artist statement

Over the course of my lifetime I have watched the world change in ways I never could have imagined, both personally and globally. Having lost numerous loved ones and grappled with deep sorrow throughout the last 20 years, I have investigated grief from a number of angles. I noticed a commonality with my personal loss and the way we connect within broader society. More and more people feel isolated and alone, despite technology making it easier for us to connect. These virtual interactions often resemble the relationships I have with those I grieve, they feel present and real, but lack tangibility. These similarities, differences, and the analogous relationship between connection and grief are my current focus.
